A Miscellany on the Present...
Soooo. . . long time no blog. My time and energy have been needed elsewhere, so this blog has lain fallow. For the three of you who read this, I apologize. I'll try to break through the blogger's block (is there such a thing?) with some present randomness from my life:
- Came across a great quote from D.A. Carson recently, courtesy of our youth pastor. I'm not a big fan of Carson's take on the emerging church, but in terms of his assessment of corporate worship in the church (generally speaking), he's dead on right: "...it's a bit like those who begin by admiring the sunset and soon begin to admire themselves admiring the sunset." [Worship by the Book, p. 31]
- THE Ohio State University Buckeyes are going to the BCS Title Game. That makes this Buckeye fan a happy man...GO BUCKS!
- Some fellow Guat-adopt friends of ours have started a t-shirt company that you should check out. Proceeds help families who are trying to adopt. The company is called Ellie Dub. I've got a brown Antigua comin' my way. (Many more countries/styles to come. . . so stay tuned)
- Speaking of adoption...don't ask. We're still in the final court (PGN). Pray for a breakthrough NOW. Trust me, when we get out of the courts, you won't have to check this blog or our adoption blog to find this out. You'll hear me, screaming from the top of my lungs. That's right regular reader from Sri Lanka who I don't know...you'll be hearing from me.
- Gmail is awesome. They now have colored labels, which compelled me to completely overhaul my email organization. It took way TOO long, but with as much as I spend using GMail, it's worth it. The labels, when combined with Gmail's filtering system, makes keeping my email organized a cinch. I even have ZERO emails in my inbox. Here's a screenshot of the goodness:

- Bekah, Ben, Baby-in-womb, and yours truly are headed to Denver on Friday morning for a long weekend in the mountains with good friends. We LOVE Denver (and loved living there) and can't wait to spend a few days there.

Welcome back! Good to see my Bloglines lit back up again. The adoption wait S T I N K S. (That's the most web-friendly family-friendly term I could use.)
Have fun in Denver. Great place! But maybe not as great as Portland. :)
